10 Week Scan

So here is bubba!
Baby's head is to the right and it's lying as if it's looking straight at us.

Can you make it out?? x

Read All About It...

I have been away from this for a while havent I!
I have so much news.. where to start?

Ok, the BIGGY!! Me and the hubby are going to be parents in Feb 2011 :)
He did his sperm count (all was fine) and I went to the gynecologist. I met my ovaries! They told me that they could see a shadow on my left fallopean tube which meant it may be blocked. Cue hysterical Jacki!! The thought of me being unable to have kids drove me insane.
Anyway, the next procedure would be a laparoscopy (pushing dye through the tubes to see if there is a blockage). If there was a blockage; the tube would be cut so that it would give the right ovary more of a chance.
This procedure has to been done just after you have menstruated. Luckily, I was 'due on' the following week. I wanted it done sooner rather then later.
So... after a week had passed, I had sore boobs (to suggest I was ready for my period) but no sign of anything. I waited another week and then my brain started ticking..
....perhaps I was pregnant??!
& I was!!

I bet the 'shadow' was my fertilised egg making it's way down to the womb. You could say that I've seen my baby before anybody else has ever seen one.

We had our first scan on 30th July (the day before hubby's birthday) and it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Our little baby was wriggling it's legs and we saw it's heartbeat. They told me I was only 10 weeks pregnant.

I am now 14 week + 5 days. We both cant wait until the 20th week when we get our next scan and find out the sex of our baby.

SO, THE NEXT NEWS:

I have a week and 3 days left in Germany :( I have been packing for the past two days. The kitty has been driving me bonkers and playing in each box that I open. Curious kitty!!

I really dont want to leave. I love it over here. Yes, I miss family and friends but it's so much more relaxing over here. Germany is a fantastic country and living within the army community makes you feel safe.
It's going to be scary starting from scratch soon.

I'm a man!

So I went to the doctors last week. I spent two day being pricked and prodded whilst they struggled to take blood from me (which mean's I have no chance with Edward Cullen really). They eventually took blood from my hand but it was literally dripping out. It seemed to take forever to fill a measley little vial.

Anyway, the reason for all this blood sucking was to test my hormones. As me and hubby are trying for children (and failing miserably) we thought we'd get ourselves checked out.

The results came in 4 days ago. I have too much testosterone and very little progesterone. I suppose it explains why my armpits are hairier than hubbys and also why I have what can only be described as sideburns.

I have been assured that this is perfectly normal and it will be easy to fix. My husband just needs to get his sperm count done and then they'll refer me to a gynocologist.

I Love This!

Boredom ends here!

So, I've applied for a few jobs. Nothing compared to my money earners in the UK but every little helps as they say!

In other news; I have been chosen to take part in a project. I auditioned several weeks ago for a singing venture called Singing For Soldiers.
I will be singing along with 5 other Army Wives in the hope to raise money for Afghan Heroes and Macmillan Nurses. Obviously the first charity is one I care about a lot, being the wife of a soldier; however, the second choice also means a lot to me. My grandad sadly passed away in Feb 2009 from lung cancer caused by Asbestos. He was in a hospice for the last few weeks of his life and the nurses were incredible. They do a fantastic job and all without a wage for them. I cant thank them enough for their hard work.

As I am singing for the project, I also have to take part in a calendar shoot. This scares me! I am not the fittest of folk and have put on quite a few pounds since moving overseas. I am told it will be a 'funny' rather than 'sexy' shoot; with us in combats and handbags.
Never the less, I am terrifed!!

Please follow my progress here: http://www.singingforsoldiers.co.uk/

We also have a group on Facebook so have a look for that xxx

Life Lessons

When living in a close knit community, it feels like you have an extended family. You have the relatives that you love to bits & then there's always the odd few that you cannot stand but you are nice to for the sake of your mum! However; all families pull together in a crisis.
This family is in shock today. A young woman who lives in this community, was in a car accident & died yesterday. She was just 23.
It really puts things into perspective & I am going to treasure EVERY single day I have on Earth.
The car crash was on a country road close by. The same country road that my husband crashed his car on last week!!! Luckily he only came away with a bad bumper and a sore back. I dread to think..
Her husband was away on a course & her young son was away at relatives at the time. I cant imagine how her husband must have felt when he got the phone call. It breaks my heart.
I read about it in the local newspaper & it brought tears to my eyes.
This poor woman lived only a few doors down on the same street I live on. I walked past it earlier. I wanted to look into her windows to see if she would be there and this was all a bad rumour!
Everyone is talking about this accident & wondering how her husband is coping. Lots of people have offered there support and I am sure he will have an army of people he can turn to for help.
It really is such a terrible shame and I hope that if there is a heaven, that she is up there now, watching over her family.

May we all live long and healthy lives!!

Busy All Day

Well, another day of house work.. the joys!

As usual, I have woken up at 9am only to get back in bed once the cat has been fed. If all I have to do is a few household chores, why rush to get up and dressed? I dont have a manager who will discipline me for being late, nor check I have done my work correctly.
I could wait an hour before HE is home & do everything then. No one would no the difference but me!

We have the in-laws over this weekend, so there is an extra urgency to get everything spic-n-span!

I was sat proudly in my tidy living room last night, thinking of my sparkling kitchen and hall. This was all until HE came home.. muddy footprints covered my freshly mopped tiles! I could have died!
He offered to clean the mess up himself, which I knew were false words.
Another job for me today, however, I shouldnt moan..

It IS what keeps me busy all day!
